Saddle Lead Screw (BOSWA)
The saddle lead screw (also known as table lead screw) is the core transmission component of the coordinate axis drive system on wire-cut EDM machines. Model BOSWA converts the rotational motion of the stepper motor into precise linear displacement of the saddle (worktable). Made of high-grade alloy steel with quench & temper heat treatment and precision thread grinding, it offers high lead accuracy, high surface hardness and excellent wear resistance. The nut, made of copper alloy or engineering plastic, mates with minimal clearance and good lubrication for smooth transmission and low backlash. The accuracy of the saddle lead screw directly determines the machine's positioning and repeatability accuracy — a critical component affecting workpiece dimensional tolerances and fit accuracy; regular maintenance and timely replacement are recommended.
